The young American was caught smiling after the world no.1 was defeated by Ana Ivanovic. She denies she was celebrating.

Camera scan be sneaky and Sloane Stephens got into a trap.

What has happened?

Serena had just lost to Ana Ivanovic and there was a sort of “hug me that I hug you” in Ana’s box. Consequently the cameras caught Sloane Stephens that was smiling and she was mimicking what was happening among Ivanovic’s team.

To be honest Sloane didn’t seem to be really unhappy for Serena’s loss, for many she was even celebrating… so that sparked a big controversy.

Stephens: I wasn’t celebrating…

The world no. 13 commented ‘At the end of the match, Ivanovic’s coaches pretty much gave each other headbutts and kisses, and I thought that was the funniest thing ever because I have never seen a more excited headbutt/kiss at the end of the match,”

… and it was a bit too much to put me on camera

Sloane wasn’t really impressed by being caught on camera in that specific moment to say ”Yeah, it’s a little much. Then for them to put it on TV was a little extra.”

A spokesperson from Channel Seven, the TV that has broadcasted “Sloane’s happiness” commented ‘My understanding is that the camera was in a public area so we were allowed to be there and we were able to get the shot,” Smith said. ”We were in an area that we were allowed to be in.”
