Emma Raducanu won the US Open after winning 10 consecutive matches and without dropping a single set. There has been a huge hype about Emma in the UK and all over the world The 18-year-old impressed for her tennis, personality, and stunning presence. However, given the recent history in women’s tennis, some think Emma could be just another “one-slam wonder.”

2013 Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli thinks that Emma Raducanu is there to stay. The French woman was particularly impressed by Emma’s confidence. Talking with Tennis Majors, she commented:
“Even though she had zero experience at that level, I didn’t see anything in her game that was starting to collapse. And that to me showed first of all confidence, but especially preparation.”
It can’t be a coincidence
Marion also stressed the fact that not dropping a single set in 10 matches cannot be a coincidence.
“I don’t think it’s going to be a one-off. You just don’t win the US Open without dropping a set; you can’t be lucky ten matches in a row if you don’t have the level.
I don’t see why she would collapse [in the future]. Only the pressure, but I think she’s ready for that. I don’t think she wants to stop at one Grand Slam,” she added.
Emma is still in the UK, where she has resumed her preparation. She decided not to compete in the upcoming WTA 500 in Chicago to get to her best preparation for Indian Wells.

Now ranked no.22 (career-high), Emma played her last match on the 11th of September when she overcame world no.28 Leylah Annie Fernandez 6-4 6-3 in the final in U.S. Open to win her 1st career title.
During this season the Brit owns an overall 23-6 match record. Emma clinched 1 title at the U.S. Open. Raducanu was the runner-up in Chicago.
