Emma Raducanu became an instant celebrity after she won the US Open title coming from the qualifications. The young British player has stressed many times that a very important part of her success is due to the upbringing she had from her parents, especially her Chinese mother, Renee.

During an interesting video with CGTN Sports Scene, Emma talked about her Chinese upbringing and what she learned from the Chinese culture.

The 18-year-old commented:

I’m very proud of my Heritage. I think my mom has the culture, the Chinese culture that is extremely hard working with a very very good work ethic which I hope I have learned just from my mom.

Going to China and seeing how my cousin would study 12 13 hours a day and he would never complain whenever I go I was having a tough time my mom would always remind me

it’s very inspiring how hard working they are and their resilience.”

Emma is now taking a break in Bromley before going back to the US where she will Destiny play in Indian Wells. It is not clear yet if she will try to have another run in Chicago.
