Rafter loses the doubles with Hewitt in his Australian Open comeback

Not a wonderful come back for Pat Rafter that has tried his tennis playing doubles with Hewitt in Melbourne.

The Australians fell to Eric Butorac and Raven Klaasen in straight sets, but at least it was lots of fun.

Rafter: I should have practised a bit more…

Pat was still happy, but he has admitted Eric Butorac and Raven Klaasen ‘I probably should have practiced a bit more.  don’t think it will happen again, but it was good fun while it lasted.”

… the problem was my return

”I just don’t return. I knew that was going to be the worst part of my game, and it was. I served better than I thought I would. I volleyed OK,” Rafter said. ”I just wish I’d returned a bit better.”

OK… at 41 years of age that was still a good effort, it lasted only 73 minutes… but it was still nice!
