Sascha Zverev explains why in his opinion Novak Djokovic is the greatest of all time

Zverev On Why Djokovic Is The Goat

Novak Djokovic defeated his dear friend Alexander Zverev in the US Open semi-final to have a shot at winning a historical year Grand Slam. The Serbian sensation has already won the Australian Open, the Roland Garros, and Wimbledon this season. If Djokovic conquers the US Open, he will be the first man to have clinched 4 majors in the same year after Rod Laver did it in 1969.

Djokovic is the GOAT

During the press conference that followed his semifinal against the Novak Djokovic, Sascha Zverev explains why he believes the Serbian legend is the greatest.

“I think it’s great for the sport. Nobody thought anybody will do it again, what Rod Laver did. To see him have the chance on Sunday, I do believe that he will do it is great. He’s breaking every single record that there is,” said Zverev.

“If you look at the stats, if you look the pure game of tennis action, he’s the greatest of all time. Nobody is there with him, because most weeks world No. 1, most Masters 1000s titles, most likely going to be the most Grand Slams at the end of the day. And he has the chance of winning all four in the same year. How do you compete with that?”

Novak Djokovic will come up against the world no.2 Daniil Medvedev in the final on Sunday at 4:00 pm on Arthur Ashe Court. Their record is 5-3 for Djokovic.
