Rafael Nadal has been struggling for a long with a foot injury and eventually he decided to have a small surgery in Barcelona to correct his issue. Nadal had to skip the entire American swing after he compete in Washington where he was clearly struggling with his movements.
It was Nadal to announce his treatment with the following message:
“Hello everyone, I have not communicated with you through the social networks for some time.
I tell you that I was in Barcelona with my team and the medical team, to receive a treatment on my foot that will give me a few days of rest and a few weeks off the court.
I am back home and in the process of recovery.
Thank you all for your support!”

Currently ranked no.5, Rafael played his last match on the 5th of August when he surrendered to world no.46 Harris Lloyd 6-4 1-6 6-4 in the 3rd round in Washington (draw).
Presently, during this year the Spaniard owns a compiled 24-5 record. Nadal has won 2 titles in 2021 in Barcelona and in Rome.
