Emma Raducanu has just reached the US Open final after being the first qualifier in tennis history (male or female) to reach a grand slam final starting from the qualifications.

Emma Raducanu has always credited her parents for her success. During a recent interview, she said that she has her great work ethic from her father and her mother, who come from countries valuing hard work. Emma’s father is from Romania, while her mother Renee is from China.

Unfortunately, Emma confirmed that she would not have the luxury of enjoying the presence of her parents in the stands during the US Open.

“It’s not possible because you need a waiver and it takes a couple of weeks for approval. It’s too late, and they won’t be able to get one,” said Emma.

Emma will face fellow teenager Leylah Fernandez for the US Open title. Leylah will have the presence of her mother and sister in her player’s box. However, her father (and coach) will also not be present as he is currently in Canada.
