A good victory for Novak Djokovic that had a bit of a problem in the first set.
Nole was leading 3-0 in the open to fall down on his left ankle. Even if there was this little scare eventually Nole won the opening set 6-0 (in 22 minutes!) to then cruise in the other 2 sets 6-4 6-4. So, no chances for Leonardo Mayer.
The only question mark about this match is if Nole will suffer from that twist on his left ankle. If he does… well that will be a problem for the rest of the tournament.
Nole about the heat and his game
The Serb commented “You don’t want to spend too much time in the heat. You want to try to win as quick as possible. He started to play better as the match progressed, in the second part, especially in the third set. But I felt like I was serving well and I was in control. When I needed to use my opportunities when they were presented, I did so. It was a better performance than the first round.”

Djokovic will play the 3rd round against Denis Istomin. Head to head is 3-0 for Nole.
