Leylah Annie Fernandez is living the dream! The young Canadian player has just turned 19 and she reached the US Open semi-final after winning an epic match against Elina Svitolina.
Leylah started her US Open campaign ranked the number 73. However, thanks to her latest results in New York, she gained 37 places in the live rankings to be the new world number 36. If she reaches the final, Fernandez will be ranked the number 27. If she wins the American slam, Leylah will be the new world number 19 on Monday.
