Emma Raducanu is having a dream run at the US Open, where she reached the quarter-final after starting her campaign from the qualifications. Emma has been impressing not only for her tennis but also for her composure.
Raducanu on her parents
Emma has an interesting background. She was born in Toronto to a Romanian father and a Chinese mother and she moved to the UK when she was just 2. Both parents work in finance and Emma has always stated that she got her work ethic from them.
During an interview, she revealed:
“On my mum, she’s always instilled a lot of discipline and respect for other people into me. I think having parents like I do, they always push me. They have high expectations. I’ve always tried to live up to that. And I hope I did them proud this week.
I think it’s definitely helped me, the mentality that both of them bring. They both come from very hard-working countries.”
