Del Potro risks having no rackets to play at the Australian Open!

Quirky stuff for Juan Martin Del Potro.

The Argentine is still playing with the older-generation Wilson racket, but the big problem is that Wilson is not making those frames anymore!

So Delpo started with six rackets, than he was down to 4 and now he has only 2 left! The world no5 should have switched to the new frames but he didn’t feel comfortable to say  “I was close to change, but I’m not feeling 100 percent at the moment.

Hopefully me and Wilson, we want to change, we are really close and really soon. I need to change racquets because I use the same racquet a lot. I think the other guys, they have advantage to me when they play with six or eight racquets in one match.”

Delpo is still playing with the same racket (Wilson KFactor) he used when he has won the US Open in 2009!

About trying to find a solution

“We are working really hard to find a good racquet for me. I mean, if I change the racquet during the off-season, then I came here to play a Grand Slam and I don’t feel 100 percent. Your mind start to working in the negative position. It’s not easy for the players change the racquet. But I’m proud to have Wilson behind me, because I know they are working really hard.” commented the Argentine.

Del Potro is now about to play the final in Sydney against Tomic
