Daniil Medvedev had a rather tricky semi-final against Andrey Rublev in Cincinnati. The world numbers 2 lost in 3 sets, but this match will be remembered for a rather uncharacteristic episode.
At the beginning of the second set, Daniil Medvedev crashed against a big camera on court. The Russian player was extremely upset about the placement of the camera. First, he checked that the cameraman was fine, and then he pretended to kick the camera in full frustration.
After the episode, Daniil asked for a medical timeout because he got hurt to his left hand during the impact. Eventually, he said:
“I almost broke my hand. You don’t care about players? I’m gonna sue them,” he said.
