Ivanovic wins a tricky opener in Auckland saving 4 set points.

A good but tricky start for Ana Ivanovic.

The Serbian Beauty wants to get back in the top 10 as soon as possible and she is posed to play a great tennis in 2014.

The first match of the season was rather difficult as world no.57 Alison Riske was playing great. Finally Ana won the match in just less than 2 hours

The critical moment was in the 2nd set when she was 0-40 and 3-5 down to save 3 set points in style and save another one in the 9th game.

Ana: It was a good match

The world no.16 commented “I thought it was a very good match. There were some long rallies and I was down a break in both sets so I was pleased I came back. I kept composed at key moments. I’ve really enjoyed my time here. I feel at home and I feel comfortable.”

Next stop for Ana is world no. 84 Johanna Larsson. Head to head is 2-1 for Ana.
