Naomi Osaka lost as early as in the third round in Cincinnati to Jil Teichmann. The Japanese sensation is well known for getting depressed after losing messages. Fortunately, it appeared as she processed it pretty well her latest defeat in Ohio.
During the press conference that followed the match against the Swiss player, Naomi Osaka looks like being in a good mood. During the presser, she admitted that she was happy for losing anyway because that helps her understand 2 or 3 things she needs to improve before defending her US Open title.
“I have high expectations of myself, but there was nothing more I could do to win this match. I’m almost glad I lost as it gives me so many things to work on in my game. I just hope the results come in time for the US Open.”
Naomi Osaka may now spend the next 10 days preparing for the US Open. Nevertheless, she didn’t rule out the possibility to play a warm-up event right before the Americans slam.
