World no.288 upsets Raonic in straight sets!

Jerzy Janowicz withdraws from the Hopman Cup? No problem, his substitute beats world no.11 Milos Raonic!

This was definitely the surprise of the day. After a wonderful match against Bernard Tomic, Milos was meant to just walk against the Grzegorz Panfil  (world no.288) to incredibly lose in straight sets.

Milos: He was rather good

The Canadian commented “I was sloppy at the start and then he closed out the match incredibly (well),. The time to be playing my best tennis is after January 13,” he added .

“Of course I hate to lose, I want to win these kind of matches. But it’s not the end of the world.  This is also a training week for us and I’m pleased to have three days now to work on things.” He concluded.

Canada lost the tie against Poland as Genie Bouchard was defeated 6-3, 6-7 (7), 6-2 by Agnieszka Radwanska
