A good win for Vika Azarenka that beats the world no.1 in straight sets during the exhibition in Thailand.
The Belarus had a difficult 2013. She has won the Australian Open among a huge controversy (she was accused of using a medical time-out just to stop Sloane Stephens in the semifinal) and then the rest of the seasons was plagued by injured (well… she as still managed to end as world no.2).
On the other side Serena had an amazing season conquering 11 titles (2 slams)… so beating the American was definitely positive for Vika’s self-confidence

“It’s a great warm up before going to compete and start the year,” she told reporters in the seaside resort of Hua Hin. “It’s always really fun because we take each other to the limit.” said the world no.2

The American was still a bit jet lagged, but she was happy by her tennis to comment “We had a really good match. We had a lot of moving and I think it was a really good warm up for us in the future,”
Both players will now head to Brisbane to play the first tournament of the year.
