Naomi Osaka, Ashleigh Barty, and Aryna Sabalenka are the top favorites to win the WTA1000 in Cincinnati, according to betting company Bet365.
Naomi Osaka is finally back to competitions after she played the Olympic Games in Tokyo, where she lost in the third round. After losing that match, Naomi disclosed that she was not sure when she would be back on tour. Osaka declined to compete in Montreal, but fortunately, she will be part of the main draw in Cincinnati, where she is seeded number 2. Naomi is also the defending champion of this event that was staged in New York last year because of the global pandemic.
Ashleigh Barty is also back to competitions after Tokyo, where she lost in the first round. Ashleigh has been struggling with a hip injury for some time. She also decided not to play in Montreal and be back in Cincinnati, seeded number 1.
Aryna Sabalenka is in great form. She was expected to win the tournament in Montreal, but she lost in the semi-finals to an inspired Karolina Pliskova.
Coco Gauff, at 17 years of age, seems to be ready to blossom and win big titles. Coco was in great form in Montreal, but she was too surprised in the quarters by Camila Giorgi, who has been playing a fantastic tournament. Coco is considered the favorite no.12 to win Cincinnati
