Jannik Sinner has just won his first ATP 500 in Washington after defeating Mackenzie Mcdonald following a tough final. It was remarkable to notice that the young Italian didn’t make an incredible scene after winning the match against the American player. Jannik was clearly happy, but it was quite evident that he had it very clear that there is a lot to do and winning this tournament was just a small step forward.
“There is a lot to do.”
Soon after the match, Jannik Sinner commented: “I think there is still much work to do, to be honest. A lot of experience to put in, working hard as we are doing now, and trying to play important matches and important moments of a match. Today I think I had a lot of them. I can learn many things today.”
After last week, Jannik Sinner is ranked the number 15, which is also his career-high rank. Jannik’s next step will be to play the ATP1000 in Toronto, where he is seeded number 16.
