The latest one was about doubles as John proposed to just cut them out from the circuit (article) . Off course that made many people (namely doubles specialists) to be rather upset.

The latest was Bruno Soares (world no.2) that had the following remarks “It’s a mean comment. A connoisseur like him should understand that our sport has evolved and now doubles players are good players also from the baseline. I wish I could see him play volleys on a Verdasco’s forehand, to experience the changes. We play at a much higher speed than during his days. “

“I would love to see a match between the Bryan brothers and Federer-Nadal. I’d bet all my money on the Americans. Seriously, I don’t understand McEnroe’s words. It’s a fantastic moment for doubles” he concluded.
