Daniil Medvedev, Rafael Nadal, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Andrey Rublev are the top 4 seeds and probably the favorites to win the upcoming ATP1000 that will be staged in Toronto.
Stefanos Tsitsipas fell in Rafael Nadal’s half and therefore, he may play against the King of Clay if the Greek sensation reaches the semi-finals. On the other side, the seed number one, Daniil Medvedev, is projected to face his dear friend Andrey Rublev in the other semi-final.
Missing players
The tournament will miss some important players such as Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Dominic Thiem, Sascha Zverev, Stan Wawrinka, Pablo Carreno-Busta, and Milos Raonic.
Upcoming Italian player Lorenzo Musetti was meant to start his campaign from the qualifications. Unfortunately, he was withdrawn from the tournament after he was found breaching the covid-19 rules.
Interesting matches
Stefanos Tsitsipas may face Ugo Humbert in his opening match. The French player defeated Tsitsipas in the third round of the Olympic Games a couple of weeks ago.
Similarly, Rafael Nadal may play against Lloyd Harris in his first match. The South African has defeated Nadal a few days ago in the third round of the ATP500 in Washington. Nadal may even face Nick Kyrgios in a plausible third round.
Daniil Medvedev may clash against Jannik Sinner in what will be a finger-licking third round.
