Murray wins the Sports Journalists’ Association award

Andy Murray is a heavily celebrated man these days.

We are close to the end of the year and it’s time for awards; having ended the famous 77 years drought since a Brit won Wimbledon (Fred Perry in 1936) Andy is collecting awards all over the places..

Murray is now the hot favourite to win the BBC Sport Personality of the Year, but before that he has collected the Sports Journalists’ Association award,

Andy was not at the dinner (he is training in Miami), but he has sent a pre-recorded video to the Association saying “It has been an unbelievable year. Winning Wimbledon was the highlight. I’ve been working towards that for a long time. I’d like to thank all the journalists who have written about me over the years.”

Ranked now world no.4 (10 points shy from Ferrer), Andy will start the new season playing the prestigious Mubadala World Tennis Championship.
