Aryna Sabalenka ended pretty early her run in Tokyo during the Olympic Games. The Belarusian player lost in the second round in singles to Donna Vekic 6-4 3-6 7-6(3). For this reason, Aryna decided to go to the US and have a nice break in Los Angeles before heading to Montreal, where she will play the Rogers Cup.
Aryna didn’t want to lose her form in California and therefore she kept on training while enjoying life in LA.

Now ranked no.3 (career-high), Aryna played her last match on the 26th of July when she surrendered to world no.53 Donna Vekic 6-4 3-6 7-6(3) in the 2nd round in Tokyo (draw).
This season the Belarussian achieved a compiled 35-12 record. Aryna clinched 2 titles in 2021 in Abu Dhabi and in Madrid. Sabalenka was the runner-up in Stuttgart.
