Paula Badosa Gibert and Marta Kostyuk are finding some time to relax before starting their campaign in North America. Paula was in great form at the recent Olympics, but the heat stopped her, and she had to retire when playing against Marketa Vondrousova.
Marta did not play in the Olympic Games, but she spent a considerable amount of time fine-tuning her fitness.

The North American swing
Both Paula and Marta will not play next week. Badosa will compete the week after on the occasion of the Rogers Cup that will be staged in Montreal. Marta will skip the Rogers Cup and Cincinnati. She will play only 2 back-to-back tournaments in Chicago before the US Open.

Currently ranked no.29 (career-high), the Spaniard played her last match on the 28th of July when she had to retire when playing against world no.42 Marketa Vondrousova in the quarter and the scoreline was 6-3 .
Until now, during this year the Spaniard has achieved a compiled 29-11 win-loss record. The Spaniard clinched 1 title in Belgrade.

Ranked no.62 (career-high), Kostyuk played her last match on the 1st of July when she was defeated by world no.65 Anastasija Sevastova 1-6 6-4 6-3 in the 2nd round in Wimbledon (draw).
This year Marta has a composed 19-11 record. Marta Kostyuk’s best accomplishment of this year was reaching the semifinal in Abu Dhabi and Istanbul.
