The world no.1 has won 13 slams and according to many he has a shot to equal or even overtake Roger Federer that has won 17 slams titles.
Former world no.1 Manolo Santana says that if Rafa remains healthy he can equal the Swiss Maestro to comment “Nadal is every Spanish athlete’s favorite. He’s writing not only tennis’ history. I think he’ll stay at these levels for at least four more years. I hope injuries will spare him and that he can equal Roger Federer on the slams number,”
The world no.1 will kick start the new season playing the lucrative exhibition in Abu Dhabi (The Mubadala World Tennis Championship). This will be the beginning of the preparation for the Australian Open. If Rafa wins in Melbourne he will be the only tennis player in history to equal Rod Lever in winning all Grand Slams twice .
