Wozniacki crashed out in Tokyo

Caroline  Wozniacki  still struggles to 100% dominate the WTA even if she comfortably holding the 1st spot in the women ranking.

This time the defeat came from Kaia Kanepi, a player that deserves definitely more than her 43rd position in the WTA ranking, but that would not supposed to be a threat for the world nr.1.

The Estonian manage to get her unexpected win in 3 sets (7-5 1-6 6-4) in the 3rd round of the Pan Pacific Open tournament. So Wozniacki lost the match even if she won more games.. 15-14… That’s tennis!

‘I felt I played some good tennis in the second set, and a half in the third. I had 3-0 (in the final set), and my serve … I just couldn’t get any first serves in. I think I should have won that match,’ commented Caroline.

Than she added ‘Kaia played a good match today, played aggressively and she won the match. She’s been top 20 before and she had some problems with injury. That’s why her ranking dropped a little bit. I’ll try to do better next time.’

‘It feels great,’ said the Estonian. ‘Of course, I’m very happy, not because I beat her, but also because I played well and I hung in there.’

‘I went there to play my game, not take too many risks, just to play long points, and stay aggressive. I think the game from the baseline, I was staying aggressive. My serve sometimes didn’t work well, but overall everything is fine, she added.
