What terrible news for Steffi Graf. Her father, coach, mentor, Manager (etc…) dies at the age of 75.
Peter played a pivotal role in Steffi’s incredible career helping the daughter to win her 22 slams. He was a rather controversial figure that had to spend 3 years in jail for tax evasion.
As all these “father-coaches” he was a peculiar character obsessed with his daughter’s career (well that did pay off). There are some colourful tales about him in Andre Agassi’s book.
During the last years Peter was coaching foreign players. He died in Mannheim last Sunday.
