Novak Djokovic has equaled Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer’s slam record after winning his 20th major in Wimbledon.
The debate about who is the so-called GOAT keeps on intensifying. Many think that the greatest of all time is the tennis player who has won most majors. However, it is impossible to compare players of different eras.
Djokovic the GOAT
When asked about who the GOAT is, Novak Djokovic had a very good reply to say that he doesn’t want to be part of this kind of discussion. Djokovic commented:
“I don’t want to be part of the debate. I don’t want to compare myself with anybody. I have my own part and my own journey. I don’t want to spend time and energy thinking about what if happens. I’m just focusing on the next match.
I know history is on the line. I’m privileged and motivated to be in this position, but let’s talk about the history if everything goes well here after I finish the tournament.”
