Tomic: there will be no Federers in 2 or 3 years!

Bernard Tomic has still great expectations for his future… and for a reason!

In the last couple of season the young Australian had a very good start in the “Pacific swing” to then always capitulate in the rest of the year. Bernard is now ranked world.51.

About playing in Australia

“I don’t mind pressure in Australia, I think I handle it well. It gets to me throughout the year, but in Australia I thrive off it and enjoy it. I play good tennis there. There is a big difference, there I am more relaxed, I have much more to work in the pre-season and on my game, that’s where I think I’m at my strongest, that three-four week block in January. I just need to find the right amount of time and area to fit that throughout the year, to give myself the best chance of playing the way I was playing in Australia, in Sydney.”

Last year Bernard won the tournament in Sydney after defeating Novak Djokovic in the Hopman Cup.

About the New Generation and “No Federers”

Bernard had a couple of thoughts about his generation to comment “Generations will move on, for sure in two or three years there will be no Federers. They will slowly start moving and four-five years from now it will be a totally different group of players in the top 10, that’s for sure.

It gives a chance for players like Raonic and Dimitrov and myself to get into that spot, and take over and dominate.

I’ve got to stay positive, keep working, and my time will come to get to that stage.”

Well… sooner or later it’s to deliver.
