Ups… another bad news from doping.
Former world no. 35 Nuria Llagostera Vives was found positive to a test (methamphetamine) at a tournament. Her ban will expire the 7th of September 2015 and that might be a bit late for the Spaniard as she is already 33 years old.
There is a bit of a controversy as it is not clear how she got that substance. The Spanish player said that he day before she was in San Francisco and she had “only consumed a bottle of water”. OK.. that strange.
According to the ITS
ITF Christiane Ayotte said the substance “was and is available only as a streetdrug (crystal meth or meth) or as a stimulant or as a party drug,” except when prescribed for some behavioural disorders.”
The Spaniard had to play the doubles with Francesca Schiavone at the Bank of the West Classic in Stanford in July, but she couldn’t as the Italian was unfit.
