Unhappy Djokovic defeats Gasquet to remain unbeaten in London

The world no.2 defeats Richard 7-6(5) 4-6 6-3 to get to the semifinals without dropping a match. Video Interview

Not a good win for Novak Djokovic.

The world no.2 had this match against Richard Gasquet that wasn’t really shifting the fortunes of group B. In fact the Serbian was already qualified for the semifinals and Gasquet was already out.

So, it was about winning the match in the most “painless way”. This didn’t really happen. In fact, Nole played quite a poor match for his standards to win “only” in 3 sets in more than 2 hours. Match Stats

That was no good as this is his 3rd consecutive match won in 3 sets and he may struggle from an energy point of view against Wawrinka in the semifinals.

At the end of the match Nole expressed his disappointment for his “sloppy performance”.

Next vs. Wawrinka

Nole will play Stanislas Wawrinka in the semifinals. Head to head is 15-2 for the Serbian that has won the last 13 matches, but Stan is at his best and Nole is not… so an upset is not that improbable.
