Ashleigh Barty and Novak Djokovic were leading the rankings before Wimbledon, but their leadership was under threat. Barty could lose the world no.1 rank from Aryna Sabalenka, while Daniil Medvedev could have dethroned Djokovic.
Live rankings
Nevertheless, both Ashleigh and Novak will stay at the top of the rankings also after the Championships. Barty’s lead became unassailable after she conquered the Wimbledon semi-finals. The Australian now has 8415 points. If Aryna Sabalenka wins Wimbledon, she will have only 8185 points that are not enough to become the new world number 1.
Novak Djokovic is assured of leading the rankings after Wimbledon following Daniil Medvedev’s surprising loss in the 4th round at the hands of Hubert Hurkacz.
Djokovic will start his 329th career week at No. 1 next Monday, Barty her 84th.
