Dayana Yastremska is finally cleared to play a tennis tournament after her ban for doping was lifted. The 21-year-old had a rough ride during the last few months. At the end of 2020, she was infected by the Coronavirus. Even worst, she was found positive after being tested for doping. Dayana has always claimed her innocence, citing contamination.
After a long battle, her theory of contamination was accepted and she was finally cleared to play again. Dayana intended to play in Wimbledon, but the tournament withdrew her name just a few hours before she won the appeal.
Therefore, Dayana decided to play in Hamburg to finally be back to competitions. She will be seeded number 1 in this WTA250 event.
