Matteo Berrettini and his girlfriend Ajla Tomljanovic have been dating for roughly 2 years and they are both living the dream in Wimbledon.
Both Matteo and Ajla reached the quarter-finals at the Championships. Tomljanovic had a rather tricky 4th round when she was opposed to home favorite Emma Raducanu. The match was played in an electric atmosphere. Unfortunately, the teenager had to retire when the match was on a 6-4 3-0 scoreline because of breathing issues.
Tomljanovic and her boyfriend Berrettini
Matteo Berrettini has recently revealed that he struggles when he attends the matches of his girlfriend Ajla and brother Jacopo. However, Matteo could not miss the opportunity and he was in the standings cheering for Ajla.
After the match, Matteo could not contain his pride for his girlfriend to comment:
“The fact that she’s also in the quarter-finals is just crazy. It’s not easy for a couple like us to make these results.
I’m so proud of her the way she’s handling everything. Today obviously wasn’t the best way to end the match. But she was there; the atmosphere before the injury was great. I think she deserves it and I’m really happy for her. Now it’s time to think about the quarter-finals.
She’s going to play tomorrow; I’m going to play on Wednesday. But so far, it’s been the best Grand Slam that we’ve played together.”
