Cori Gauff and Roger Federer are part of 2 completely different generations, with the Swiss being 22 years older than the young American. However, they share a good relationship also because Coco Gauff is managed by Team 8, the management company also owned by Roger.
During a recent interview in Wimbledon, she talked about the importance of Roger Federer in her life. Coco revealed:
“Roger has a great influence on me both on and off the court. He is someone you can always ask for advice. She has a lot of class, someone you want to be like. It is fantastic to be able to be honest with him; I hope it can continue like that and that we will win until the end of the tournament.
We are from different generations; I want to be the best model of a person that I can become. I don’t think I am the person I am because of Roger. I am Coco. But without a doubt, I want to be like him but also be myself.”
In the same interview, Coco also admitted that when she played on Centre Court a few days ago, she was nervous just for the fact that Roger Federer was scheduled to play after her.
