Emma Raducanu is the big surprise of the current Wimbledon edition. Currently ranked number 338, Emma has a stunning run in the Championships, where she reached the second week without dropping a single set on the way.

Emma has an interesting background. She was born in Toronto, Canada, to her father, Ian (Romanian), and her mother, Renee (Chinese). She moved to the UK when she was just 2. During the press conference that followed her successful match against Sorana Cirstea, Emma credited her parents for her work ethic.

She revealed that both parents work in finance. She commented:

“Having parents like I do, they always push me they have high expectations. So I’ve always tried to live up to that and I’m just hope i hope I did them proud this week and I’m gonna keep trying to go keep going.”

Currently ranked no.338, Emma has an overall 5-2 win-loss record in 2021. The Brit is competing in Wimbledon where she bested Vitalia Diatchenko 7-64 6-0, Marketa Vondrousova 6-2 6-4 and Sorana Cirstea 6-3 7-5

Now the world no.75, the Australian has managed to achieve a 19-14 match record in 2021. Ajla is competing in Wimbledon where she managed to beat Greetje Minnen 6-2 7-65, Alize Cornet 6-4 0-6 6-3 and Jelena Ostapenko 4-6 6-4 6-2.
