The Frenchman has won 3 Slam titles in this discipline: 2 titles at the Australian Open with his friend and compatriot Fabrice Santoro (2003 and 2004) and in Wimbledon (2007) with Arnaud Clement. Michael won the silver medal at the Olympic Games in London 2012 with Tsonga (defeated y the Bryans).
Abouth his retirement
In a recent interview Michael said “The 2014 season will be my last whatever happens. I have decided to go on for another year because I feel good physically and I still want to achieve more.”
“I don’t want to do one year too many but I feel I’m still capable of playing well and it would be a shame not to profit from that. This won’t be a farewell tour like the Rolling Stones, this is a year where I’m going to give everything to play well.” he added
