ATP Paris draw preview. Federer has good draw. Nadal and Djokovic a bad one.

Cool stuff for Roger in Bercy!

The Swiss Maestro has quite an “approachable” draw not to meet any nasty player till the quarters when he is supposed to play Del Potro. Roger may some problems with boom boom Anderson in the opener, but the South African is definitely approachable and then he may play Tommy Haas in the second match (and Roger has a sort of upper hand on the German; H2H 13-2 for Roger).

Nadal

Rafa wasn’t as lucky as he should face Jerzy Janowicz in the second match. The Pole is definitely comfortable in Bercy that was his breakthrough tournament when last year he reached the final coming from absolutely nowhere. Jerzy has already played Rafa in the Montreal 3rd round and he gave many problems to the Spaniard. So … an upset would not be so strange.

Djokovic

Nole should be the favourite to win the trophy as he is in good form and he wants to fight back after losing the world no.1 spot. Rafa is still expected to finish the year at the top of the rankings, but if the Serb wins in Bercy and Rafa has a lousy tournament, Nole may have a say at the World Tour Finals.

The problem for the Serb is that he really had a horrible draw to play Isner in the second round (and you never know what you find on the other side of the net when you play John on indoor hard courts). Then Nole may play Wawrinka (another player he can pull out any kind of performance any time). In the semifinal he might play Federe (still a hard customer on indoors courts) or Del Potro.

And the upcoming players?

Dimitrov will face Llodra in opener (bad stuff playing the Frenchman in Bercy) and then possibly Fognini (that would be a nice one for Grigor) ; in the third round the Bulgarian may face Del Potro.

Mad Max Gulbis had a good draw to play Verdasco in the opener and then possibly an unfit Gasquet and Tsonga (that is also in a bad shape).

Janowicz as we said is likely to play an unfit and tired Nadal in the 3rd round.

Tomic is battling in the qualifications to find a place in the main draw.
