Istanbul: Azarenka survives a tough Errani. Kvitova beats Radwanska

Victoria Azarenka is finally back to victory!

After losing 3 straight matches and a disastrous Asian swing when she crashed out in both openers in Tokyo and Beijing, Vika finds her way in Istanbul.

Also in Turkey she hadn’t an easy one as she had to recover from a 2-5 deficit against a very effective Sara Errani. The match was rather entertaining with (maybe) too many breaks (12 out of 20 games). The critical part of the match was the first set as Vika recovered from a seemingly impossible scoreline to win the opener at the tiebreak.

In the second set the players exchanged a couple of breaks in the beginning, but when there were 2 all Vika took off to win 4 consecutive games and wrap up the match after 2 hours and 14 minutes. Match Stats.

Kvitova

Petra confirms her good form after a wonderful Asian swing (she won the title in Tokyo and she reached the semifinal in Beijing) to beat Radwanska 6-4 6-4. The match was rather straight forward with Petra catching an early 3-1 lead in both sets without then dropping her serve. Petra won after 1 hour and 24minutes. Match Stats
