Roger Federer is trying to stage a proper comeback to competitions after his double operation to his knee in 2020. The Swiss sensation has been struggling to find his form in 2021 and replicate the incredible comeback he had back in 2017.

For these reasons, Roger Federer is struggling to have defined schedules for his next competitions. During the press conference that anticipates Wimbledon, Federer admitted that he is unsure if he will compete in the upcoming Olympic Games in Tokyo. Roger Federer won the gold medal in 2008 at the Olympic Games in Beijing, playing doubles with Stan Wawrinka.

“I would like to go, but we decided just to get through Wimbledon and see where we go from there.

We decided we’re going to reassess the situation after Wimbledon because it’s going to have an impact on me. Obviously, if I play really good here or really bad – I think it has an impact on how everything might look for the summer.

Still, my feeling is that I would like to go to the Olympics. I would like to play as many tournaments as possible, but I think we decided now let’s just get through Wimbledon, sit down as a team and then decide where we go from there.”

Federer will kick-start his Wimbledon campaign against Adrian Mannarino strong of a 6-0 win-loss record in games the Frenchman. Roger Federer won Wimbledon 8 times and he was the runner-up during the last edition in 2019.
