Ashleigh Barty and Simona Halep will lead the seeding in Wimbledon this year. Curiously both players are coming back from injuries and there are question marks about their form. However, they are definitely in pole position to win the Championships if fully fit.
The tournaments will have the big absence of Naomi Osaka that decided not to play after her meltdown in Paris. The Japanese sensation is currently taking some time off to regroup and get ready for the Olympic Games.
The Wimbledon organization announced that, if needed, they would revise the seeding that would not necessarily follow the rankings. Nevertheless, there was no special treatment for 2 of the most followed players: Serena Williams and Cori Gauff. Serena will be seeded no.7 while Coco will be no.21.
