Cori Gauff and Venus Williams engaged in a fantastic match back in Wimbledon 2019 when the teenager won a gripping fight backed by the local crowd.
According to Tennis Channel pundit Tracy Austin, Coco Gauff will have a great run at the upcoming Championships.
Tracy commented: “She will go a long way at Wimbledon. She is going to be the Wimbledon sensation again. Taking as a reference two seasons ago, she has improved her forehand, improved her second serve and is much stronger. She already has good experience and has won titles. She’s going to be seeded again and she’s going to make it to the last rounds.”
Gauff has also an important weapon on grass that is her sliced second serve that is similar to Venus Williams’. “Venus Williams has the same second cut serve, and she has won five times at Wimbledon. The grass accentuates the cut, and that helps a lot,” said Tracy.
Coco had a great performance on clay this year. She won the tournament Parma, and she reached the quarters at the French Open. It’s time for her to go deeper.

Ranked world no.23 (career-high), Cori played her last match on the 9th of June when she lost to world no.17 Barbora Krejcikova 7-6(6) 6-3 in the quarter of the French Open (draw).
Currently, during this season Cori owns a 27-10 match record. Gauff conquered 1 title in Parma.
Venus Williams in 2021
Currently ranked no.112, Venus Williams played her last match on the 1st of June when she capitulated to world no.35 Ekaterina Alexandrova 6-3 6-1 in the 1st round of the French Open (draw).
This season Venus Williams has achieved an overall 2-7 win-loss record.
Cori Gauff and Venus Williams clashed against each other only twice. Their head to head is 2-0 for Gauff. Previously, the last time they locked horns, Cori Gauff won 7-6(5) 6-3 in the 1st round in Melbourne (Australian Open) in January 2020.
