Isner thinks he has a shot to qualify for London

The American no.1 hopes to make it for the World Tours Finals.

To be honest, this was quite an audacious statement for Big Johny, but in tennis you always need to think big.

John: I would absolutely love to go there

“I certainly believe in myself and it would be an unbelievable experience to make that tournament. I’m aware of the situation a little bit. The guys that are just ahead of me are actually quite a bit ahead of me as far as points go. But I do have tournaments and time to try to make that up. I would absolutely love to go there; I’ve never been there before.

So, for me, I’ve just got to focus and control what I can control. It’s a cliché, but take it each match at a time and see if I can put together some good results like I did this summer.”

Isner’s rankings

John is now ranked world no.16 and he is 13th in the Race to London rankings. Since the top 8 qualify for London, he should aim at Stanislas Wawrinka that is currently ranked 8th and he is more than 900pts ahead of Isner.

The only chances for the American is to win at least a tournament and go quite far in Shanghai and Bercy…then… let’s see!
