Sousa and Benneteau to clash for the title in Kuala Lumpur

We have a couple of nice stories regarding the next final in Kuala Lumpur and one certainty: somebody is going to win his maiden ATP Tour.

Sousa

World no.77 Joao Sousa is having the best tournament of his career to reach his first final after defeating David Ferrer in straight sets in the quarters and beating Jurgen Melzer in 2 hours and 3 minutes 3 setter. Match Stats.

“It’s my first final… I just feel great. It’s a great week for me this week.” He said

Benneteau

Julien will also try to win his first tournament. Last year he was the runner-up to Juan Monaco in Malaysia, this year he will go for more.

In the semi-final he had a surprising easy victory against the 2nd seed and the world no.10 Stanislas Wawrinka. The match lasted only 78 minutes with Julien breaking Stan 5 times on 9 service games! Match Stats

“I did not expect that… I was preparing myself for a tough match. The score is pretty easy, but when you are on the court, it is never easy,”  he commented

The final

Benneateau and Sousa have never played each other so far, so it will be the first match between this two and we will have also a new ATP champion. Benneteau seems to be the favourite for it.
