Cori Gauff and Venus Williams are going to team up in doubles at the current French Open. Venus and the young American have already an interesting story since they have already played twice against each other in singles and it was Coco to win on both occasions.
Talking about playing doubles together, Venus commented:
“I think we’re hopefully going to be a perfect match. She’s so extremely talented that I’ll definitely be expecting her to do all the work.”
They will face Sasai Zheng and Ellen Perez in their opening match.

Venus Williams in 2021
Now ranked no.104, the American played her last match on the 1st of June when she surrendered to world no.34 Ekaterina Alexandrova 6-3 6-1 in the 1st round of the French Open (draw).

Cori Gauff and Venus Williams clashed against each other just twice. The head to head is 2-0 for Gauff. Previously, the last time when they squared off, Cori Gauff won 7-6(5) 6-3 in the 1st round in Melbourne (Australian Open) in January 2020.
