Stefanos Tsitsipas is one of the top favorites to win the current Roland Garros. The Greek sensation is in great form, and he received a fantastic draw in Paris. During a recent press conference, the world number 5 could not contain his happiness for the fact that the Big3 are all stuck in the other parts of the draw.

The top players in Stefanos Tsitsipas’ half are Daniil Medvedev, Dominic thiem, and Alexander Zverev. Medvedev is well known for not playing very well on clay courts, and he has a horrible 0-4 with-loss record at the French Open.

Alexander Zverev won only in 5 sets in his first round after trailing with a 0-2 sets deficit. Dominic Thiem was upset in the opener at the hands of Pablo Andujar.

Therefore, Stefanos Tsitsipas’s draw seems to get easier and easier. When asked to comment about Dominic Thiem’s elimination, Stefanos said:

“It’s too early to think about things like that; I take every single opponent seriously. The only thing I have to do is focus on my game, and everything else will come along”.

Stefanos will play the second round against either Sebastian Korda or Pedro Martinez Portero.

Tsitsipas at the French Open, ranking, and results in 2021

Now ranked no.5 (career-high), Tsitsipas achieved a compiled 34-8 record in 2021. Stefanos is playing at the moment at the French Open where he beat Jeremy Chardy 7-66

6-3 6-1.

The Greek conquered 2 titles in 2021 in Monte-Carlo and in Lyon. Tsitsipas was the finalist in Acapulco (Abierto Mexicano Telcel) and in Barcelona (Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell).

Dominic Thiem in 2021

Now ranked no.4, Thiem played his last match on the 30th of May when he surrendered to world no.68 Pablo Andujar 4-6 5-7 6-3 6-4 6-4 in the 1st round of the French Open (draw).

At present, during this year Thiem achieved a compiled 9-8 record. Dominic Thiem’s best result of the present year was reaching the semifinal in Madrid.
