Tennis fans always like to see Federer Nadal matches.
Some years ago Federer was the favourite on grass and hard courts and Nadal was on the clay.
Nowadays Federer still had an edge in indoor hard courts and the grass, but on clay and outdoor hard courts Rafa is a clear favourite.
This is also confirmed by how the 2 players got to this semifinal.
Thanks also to a Walk Over with De Potro, Nadal lost only 8 games in the first 3 rounds displaying an incredible tennis.
It was somewhat embarassing seeing strong players like Baghdatis and LLodra struggling to rally with Nadal (and his top spin).
Yesterday after only 19 minutes Nadal was already 4-0 and 1 break point over the frenchman and it looked as the match was about to finish with an ominous 6-0 6-0.
Then LLodra came back to the game and he had a very strong sting with a remarkable tennis especially at the beginning of the second set. But that was not enough and Nadal won 6-2 6-2.
Federer had a completely different path to the semis. He won a thriller match with Feliciano Lopez in the second round and then 2 straight sets victories against Malisse (6-4 6-3 and not a great tennis) and with Soderling (7-6 (2) – 6-4 with a sharper performance).
This time Nadal is definately the favourite, but the Swiss Maestro does not have much to lose this time…
