Bianca Vanessa Andreescu seemed to be in great form after rolling past Maryna Zanevska 6-1 6-4 in the 2nd round in Strasbourg on Tuesday playing a good match in 1 hour and 5 minutes.

The injury

Unfortunately, soon after the match, Bianca announced that she decided to withdraw because of an abdominal “small” injury that may jeopardize her participation in the Roland Garros.

The Canadian sensation is well-known for her huge potential, but also for being incredibly injury-prone. After being out more than 1 year for a series of injuries, Bianca was back to competitions this year. She reached the final in Miami where (again) she had to withdraw after rolling her ankle.

In Europe, after testing positive for Coronavirus, she missed Madrid, Rome, and Parma. She was eager to have a good run in Strasbourg, but she decided to withdraw after reaching the quarters.
