Bianca Andreescu is finally back to competitions after a long hiatus that lasted almost 2 months. Before the current tournament in Strasburg, the Canadian sensation played her last event in Miami, where she had to withdraw in the final after she rolled her ankle.

Bianca was ready to be back to competitions on the occasion of the Madrid Open. Unfortunately, she tested positive for the coronavirus after landing in Spain. The consequence was Andreescu had to skip the tournament in Madrid, the next one in Rome, and the one in Parma.

Fortunately, Bianca had the opportunity to play in Strasburg right before the French Open to test her tennis and the condition on clay courts. She looked particularly dialed-in in the first match against Andrea Lazaro Garcia to win  6-1 6-2 ib just 61 minutes.

After the match, Bianca Andreescu confirmed that she is extremely happy with how she can play on clay courts. The Canadian commented:

“I think my game style really suits the clay, just because of the variety I have. Some of the heavy, high balls that I hit are obviously more effective on clay just because the ball bounces more,”
