Novak Djokovic last year was widely criticized for organizing the so-called Adria Tour in the middle of the first wave of the global pandemic. The idea was great and the vibe was huge, but the timing was probably wrong, and the event had to be stopped abruptly when some people got infected by the Coronavirus.

Novak is now in Belgrade, where he will play the tournament as the top favorite. The world number 1 commented:

“ I would also like to organize the Adria tour again. I think this idea is beautiful, to help tennis in the Balkans, to unite the region with the help of sport. It is one of the few areas that unites people.

I think what we managed to organize last year was fun

and I want to keep it that way. As a tennis player, I want to travel as much as possible to the region and countries of the former Yugoslavia.”

If there is no danger for anyone, why not?
