Bad news from Simona Halep’s camp as the world no.3 retires from the upcoming Roland Garros. The 2018 French Open champion got injured to her calf while playing against Angelique Kerber in Rome.
Simona announced that she has a tear in her calf (left leg), but she was fully committed to recover and play the Parisian major. Unfortunately, that will not happen.

Now ranked no.3, Simona played her last match on the 12th of May when she had to retire when playing against world no.26 Angelique Kerber in the 2nd round and the scoreline was 1-6 3-3 .
During this season Halep has a compiled 11-5 match record. Simona Halep’s most significant result of the year was getting to the semifinal in Stuttgart.
